About
Hello, I’m Hannah. I live with my Fiancé, Jake and our cat - Maggie. I have been a birth nerd since the age of 10 when it was my dream to become a Midwife. I continued throughout my school life working towards this goal. I struggled at A Levels with the style of exams and knew I wasn’t going to get the grades I needed for university. This was one of the hardest turning points for me going away from my dream. I changed career path going on to study a food degree. Which I loved but I never left the birth world continuing to research, watch and read everything in my free time. Even my dissertation for my degree was related to pregnancy!
After following a carer in the food industry for a few years I decided that I couldn’t ignore my calling anymore and after all my research I knew that becoming a doula was right for me. I spoke to family, friends and lot of wonderful doulas who all encourage me to follow my dream. In February 2022 I trained with Developing Doulas and have since gone on to expand my training.
Experience
I have fulfilled many support roles from mothers help, nannying, babysitting, to a carer for the elderly for 4 years.
Including supporting a neighbour with her twins from two weeks old. Looking back on this experience I can say this was my first role as a doula even if I didn’t know it at the time. I then went on to nanny the twins during holidays, and after school, continuing to help when their little sister game along 4 years later.
I have continued to help friends, family and colleagues by providing practical help and sharing knowledge and evidence.
